Bhulabhai Desai Road, better known as Breach Candy or Warden Road is a niche high-end residential community and semi-commercial neighborhood in South Mumbai. Home to many upper class citizens in Bombay, it is also home to the U.S. consulate in Bombay.

There are many famous landmarks throughout the long and winding stretch from Amarsons to the Breach Candy Hospital and Tata gardens. Breach Candy has a club for the elite with the largest swimming pool in India, molded in the shape of India. Just off Breach Candy road is the only girls Sophia College, and the very much sought after Green Lawns school. Mahalaxmi Temple from the 18th century, which honors the Hindu goddess of wealth and wisdom is closely located to Breach Candy on the edge of the sea. This temple is one of the most famous temples in Mumbai and attracts millions of devotees and tourists each year.

Breach Candy lies 21 km south of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and just 2 km from Mumbai Central Railway Station. It is also well served by local buses run by BEST. Geographically the Breach Candy road winds around the Arabian Sea. Because of its picturesque location, the property prices are among the most expensive in the country.

Not long ago, the Breach Candy road was sparsely populated, with very few bungalows and palaces. Most residents were born into old money. Some of these old bungalows and buildings still stand. The Breach Candy House and Breach Candy hospital are here from the time of British rule.
