Vikhroli is a suburb of Mumbai on the Central Railway line. The station was built just before India’s independence in 1947 to serve the needs of the sprawling Godrej Complex nearby. The railway runs through the suburb dividing it into east and west, as in many other areas in Mumbai.

Vikhroli in Mumbai is located in a small town and offers easy access to all cities. Agra Road, officially called Eastern Express Highway connects Thane, Dadar, Chembur and Vashi. It has good access to Shastri Marg in the west, which connects to Bandra, Jogeshwari and other western suburbs. Kannamwar Nagar railway station on the eastern side is known for buildings constructed by MHADA.

The Vikhroli Telephone Exchange encompassed the extensive network from Ghatkopar to Thane. A proposal is now in the pipeline for a bridge to be built on the Thane creek from Kannamwar Nagar to Kopar Khairane in Navi Mumbai, providing a vital bridge linking Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
